Springbrook's local attractions.

Our mountain is described as the Land of Lookouts and Waterfalls.

In a recently published book of Springbrook, the title is 'Where the clouds meet the earth'. As a nature-based community, Springbrook prides itself on her natural beauty. Springbrook is a unique area that offers a diversity of things to see and do by day and night. Apart from the spectacular bush walks and lookouts in our world heritage listed national park, you could visit a number of welcoming cafes and local art and craft shops scattered across the mountain.

Purlingbrook Falls

Cost $0.-

Visit Purling Brook Falls, which cascades 100 metres into a deep rainforest valley lined with palms, tree ferns and stream lilies. From Goomoolahra picnic area, walk 50 metres to another waterfall and two striking lookouts. Stroll 300 metres from the Tallanbana picnic area, just past Canyon lookout, to the top of Twin Falls; or continue on a longer walk through the canyon, passing behind waterfalls and through the different forest types. Listen for the impressive mimicking calls of the elusive Albert's lyrebird.

  • Twin Falls Rainforest Walk

    Cost $0.-

Twin Falls Circuit is a great family friendly hike that can be done in around an hour and a half. One of the most popular walking trails in Springbrook National Park, it is an awesome, easy walk through some truly beautiful and amazing subtropical rainforest. Massive rock formations, waterfalls galore, birdlife and spectacular views to Surfers Paradise in the distance top off the stunning scenery to be found here in the Gold Coast hinterland.

This route can be done in either direction, but most people choose to go anti-clockwise starting from Tallanbana Picnic Area.

  • Natural Bridge

    Price $0.-

Natural Bridge features a picturesque rock formation, formed by the force of the waterfall over the basalt cave. It is easily accessible from the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road car park.

During the day spot paradise riflebirds, green catbirds, wompoo fruit-doves and rare and threatened species like the cascade tree frog, tusked frog, sooty owl and koala. At night join a guided nocturnal tour to see the resident colony of protected glow-worms and microbats. On summer nights, also see luminous fungi and fireflies./p>

  • Best of all Lookout

    Cost $0.-

On the Best of All lookout track, venture through ancient Antarctic beech forest to a view of northern New South Wales dominated by Mount Warning, the lava plug at the centre of the erosion caldera of the extinct Tweed shield volcano.

The small pocket of Antarctic beech (Nothofagus) forest is one of our remaining links to the ancient forests of Gondwana that occurred here during a past cooler climate. Nothofagus forests were once widespread across the continent and provided a habitat for many animals that have long since disappeared from our landscape.

Best of ALL lookout is often shrouded by cloud, even when the weather is fine and sunny on the coast. For the best views, visit on clear, smoke-free days./p>
